I knew this semester was going to be a challenge for me in regard to my keyboard playing. Due to scheduling conflicts over the past two semesters, I wasn’t able to take keyboard skills III in succession after my I and II courses, so I had to wait a year to take this keyboarding class. This made me a little rusty in my keyboarding abilities. However, I believed that the knowledge would come back in little time.



The only thing that I didn’t put in mind in approaching this first semester was the weight of my workload. I’m taking 17 credits, along with working two jobs, and gigging every weekend. Needless to say it has been a tough road already. However, I always learn how to control my schedule a little better in the second half of the semester, because I have come accustomed to how I need to delegate my time. Unfortunately, my time delegation in the first semester wasn’t primarily going towards keyboard studies. As you know along with all other musicians, the keyboard is not my primary instrument, guitar is. I have had to come to grips with trying to work on both of these practices along with my busy schedule.



As far as the assignments and midterm, I feel as if my preparation wasn’t too bad. I just had a little problems understanding what exactly was going to be on the midterm. This is due to absences. Absences are another thing that has affected my work, and therefore I plan not to miss any classes in the second half of the semester. I will continue to work hard, and plan to have a much better second half of the semester.
